In 2013, he was honored for designing his own house by receiving two awards – first prize award for Excellence in Design and Owner’s Prize. He found a solution to accommodate both modern uses and contextual architecture by converting the cellar into an Eco-friendly office space without compromising the originality of the house front. The new space was created without affecting the original character of the building which was beautifully detailed. This renovation did not obstruct the sight lines of neighboring buildings and the harmony of the new design was in keeping with the existing character of the neighborhood. In addition to air and light now being filtered into the space from the newly constructed entryway, He extended the terrace on 2nd floor in order to cover the entry below from rain and snow. As an architect, He recognized his obligation and responsibility towards sustainable design so he legally converting the cellar space into an Eco-friendly environment.
