Rekha Rao serves as General Manager, Professional Oral Care and has leadership responsibility for the Colgate Oral Pharmaceutical Organization, a Subsidiary of the Colgate-Palmolive Company. In this role, Rekha has leveraged her strategic thinking and broad operational and financial experience and leadership to achieve outstandinig results for the business while managing significant organizational and industry change.

She has demonstrated unprecedented leadership and has been instrumental in articulating and driving strategic initiatives that help maintain Colgate’s competitive advantage in the marketplace. She has fostered an environment that drives teams to focus on innovations and collaborative opportunities to meet customer needs.

Previously, Rekha served as Marketing Director, Personal Care Consumer Innovation Center North America. Under her leadership, the team developed powerful insight-based innovation grids across all key categories. More specifically, she successfully elevated the team’s overall innovation capabilities, drove strong commercial alignment with the brand team and the Customer Development organization while continuing to build a stronger Personal Care culture and team.

Rekha joined Colgate in 2000 as an Assistant Brand Manager in the Global Marketing Development Program after completing an internship in 1999. She then held various positions of increasing responsibility in the U.S. Company across the Personal Care, Home Care and Oral Care categories.

She was later promoted to Marketing Manager – U.S. Dish Care, and in 2007, she became Marketing Manager – Hand and Bath Soap in U.S. Personal Care Marketing, leading the businesses to achieve record sales and profitability. She later led the highly successful Project Genesis initiative, helping to generate a pipeline of breakthrough Oral Care ideas and strategic opportunities for the U.S. Consumer Innovation Center.

Rekha is also a role model for many at Colgate and serves as an unofficial adviser to many of them. She has mentored and continues to mentor young marketers inspiring them to become independent and productive innovators. She leads and manages with respect, is a dedicated, intelligent, loyal and a incredibly supportive team member.
