Jon-Peter Kelly is an Assistant General Counsel for Delta Air Lines, Inc. In this role, he manages commercial litigation in which Delta is a party and guides the company through the complex regulations that govern the airline industry.
He oversees regulatory enforcement actions brought by government agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security, OSHA, and others. He also leads internal investigations. Mr. Kelly joined Delta in 2009 as a general attorney and was promoted to his current position in 2013. Previously, he served for five years as a federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta. Before that, he was a commercial litigator in New York at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and then, worked at Patterson Belknap. Upon graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk for Judge Timothy Lewis on the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Kelly graduated cum laude with a JD from Harvard Law School, where he was awarded the Sherman & Sterling Scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude with an AB in English from Harvard University and won the Eliot House Thesis Prize in Humanities and the Mellon Minority Undergraduate Fellowship. Among his honors are the Leadership Georgia class of 2017, and the US Department of Justice Special Achievement Award.
He is a member of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association. He lives with his wife and two children in Atlanta.
