Ms. Joanne Tabellija-Murphy joined Walmart in 2013 and is responsible for building partnerships and strategies that advance stakeholder advocacy, transform social change, and enhance the company’s corporate reputation.
As a seasoned corporate affairs professional with extensive experience and knowledge of key socio-economic issues, Joanne builds upon Walmart’s initiatives in areas such as community engagement, public affairs, internal and public policy issues, diverse societal interests, and employee advancement. She also serves as an internal consultant to Walmart in diverse communities and markets, lending her expertise in establishing and building relationships with women, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Native American communities.
Joanne holds a seat on several boards of directors and advisory councils including Women Impacting Public Policy, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Enterprising Women Magazine, OCA National, National Association for Asian American Professionals (NAAAP). She is often lauded by civic and nonprofit leaders for her strategic thinking and communications prowess and serves as a role model to many Walmart associates.
Before arriving at Walmart, Joanne worked for MillerCoors and Coors Brewing Company leading the companies work in National Community Commerce and Partnerships, Supplier Diversity, Marketing. Her strategies on corporate and community partnerships strengthened the company’s community investments and brought shared value across company business functions. Joanne also led multicultural initiatives for the company in emerging communities and diverse markets.
