James Cheng, Global HR Inclusion & Diversity Business Resource Groups Leader at Cargill, is a D&I Practitioner with over 13 years of Employee Resource Group leadership experience. He is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and growth of Business Resource Groups, which are designed to enhance a company’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy and contribute to business results that affect over 150,000 employees in over 70 countries across the world.
Mr. Cheng’s role includes developing employee engagement, securing brand loyalty, building strong relations with internal and external business partners, and supporting the community. Born to Chinese immigrant parents, the New York City native has travelled extensively. Mr. Cheng attended Texas Woman’s University for Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard in the Communications Squadron as a communications and computer systems specialist and has attended Capella University for Human Resources Management, SPHR, and SHRM-SCP certifications. His volunteer services include Lead Volunteer Counselor for Hope4Youth, non-profit homeless youth support organization, and as a former Street Counselor for StandUp4Kids in Dallas . He is Vice President and Board Member of the National Association of Asian American Professionals Minnesota Chapter.
