Edward Jun was born in Maryland, to two hard working immigrant parents. His parents struggled early on during their time here, with his father having to work two jobs at a time and learning a new language and culture. But through determination, a relentless work ethic, and much sweat and tears, they built a better life for their sons. It was this foundation of hard work that grounds Edward today. Edward graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Cornell University in 1998 with a full scholarship. He then served four years as an officer in the United States Navy, winning two leadership awards during his Naval career and ranking as the top junior officer during his tenure. During his time as a naval officer, Edward lead a team of 21 direct reports, and it was his stellar performance as Tomahawk warfare officer that he won his second leadership award, the Commander Lanny King leadership award, given the officer who best demonstrated superior leadership over the course of the year. Upon leaving the Navy, Edward went back to Cornell to pursue his M.B.A. in finance and graduated in 2004. He started his corporate career at Pfizer, and progressed with greater roles and responsibilities that culminated with his selection to Pfizer’s first ever Leadership Investment for Tomorrow (LIFT) program, where 31 high potential executives were selected by HR to receive executive mentoring and guidance from senior leaders within the company. Edward was the team lead for finance in integrating the $3.7 billion dollar acquisition of King pharmaceuticals. He then assumed duties as the CFO of the Primary Care Pain portfolio, providing financial leadership and guidance in overseeing a P&L of $2 billion in revenues and achieving 100% or more of budgeted revenues for three consecutive years. He also co-developed The TalentMarketplace, an internal Pfizer job board for short term opportunities which launched globally in 2014 and is now available in 9 languages. He is now part of the Vaccines Regional Strategy team, delivering insight and strategic thought leadership to drive Pfizer sales. The Vaccines business unit is the fastest growing BU within the company. Edward is a strong leader, hard working, intelligent, compassionate, loyal, trustworthy, dedicated, ambitious, with a strong moral compass. Edward served as a Board member on the National Chorale from 2013-2014, and currently lives in Queens with his wife and two children.
