Chi Tak Chiu
The President of International Marketing，Las Vegas Sands
I came to Las Vegas three decades ago for a better education and opportunity. However, my parents could not support me therefore at age 17 I had to be self sufficient and financially independent. My first job was a dish washer and I worked only for food. I put myself through college while working in a restaurant. After graduating from the University of Las Vegas, I began to work in the casino industry. I developed the passion for Casino Marketing while I was in Joliet, Illinois working for Empress River Casino. Later I earned a Senior Casino Host position at Caesar’s Palace then Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. I gained valuable experiences everyday and I expended my clientele from domestic to international market. In 1999 I joined The Venetian Casino and Resort as the Assistant Vice President of International Marketing, two years later I was promoted to the Vice President. My experience, work ethics and leadership separated me from my peer. In 2010 I was appointed the President of International Marketing for the Las Vegas Sands. My responsibility is to overlook the Gaming Division not only at the Venetian and palazzo of Las Vegas but also MBS in Singapore, all Sands properties in Macau such as Cotai Station (which includes Conrad, Sheraton, St. Regis and Holiday Inn), Venetian Macau, Four Seasons Macau and Sands Macau. I am also in charge of the eleven marketing offices in eight different countries. My strong marketing background and solid production team have continuously brought impressive revenue to the corporation. In 2004 we made Las Vegas Sands an IPO company.
I have a wonderful wife and three princesses. I attend school events when I am not on business trips. I also support local and school charity functions and donations. My achievement will not stop here though. I will continue to grow and inspire the new generations.
