Mr. Carey Chen is currently President, CEO, & Vice Chairman of the Board at Cincinnati Incorporated since joining the Company in January 2015. 



CI is a U.S.-based, build-to-order machine tool manufacturer. Since its founding in 1898, CI has shipped more than 60,000 machines globally. From its modern 500,000 square-foot plant and technical center on a 325-acre site near Cincinnati, OH, CI engineers and builds industrial machines to the standard of ruggedness required in the North American market “ with premium engineering features that stand up to years of rigorous use in the most demanding environments. CIâ€s portfolio of machine tool products include: press brakes, shears, powder metal presses, lasers, and additive manufacturing (BAAM and SAAM). 



Immediately prior to joining CI, Carey spent eight years as Vice President at Hypertherm, Inc. in Hanover, NH holding various management positions including: General Manager “ Light Industrial Businesses, CFO, and CIO. As General Manager, his operating businesses revenues grew by 75% in three years. During his tenure as CFO, Carey managed the refinancing of the companys minority-owned ESOP and added additional tranches in 2008 and 2012. Near the conclusion of 2013, Carey successfully led the Companys transition from being a minority-owned ESOP C-Corporation to becoming a 100%-owned ESOP S-Corporation. While at Hypertherm, Carey was named as a “Top 40 Under Forty by New Hampshire Union Leader. 



Earlier in his career, Carey also worked as VP of Finance at Wiremold/Legrand, VP & CFO at Bayliner Marine Corp. (a division of Brunswick Corp.), and in numerous consulting engagements across multiple industries. He began his career at AlliedSignal (now Honeywell) in various financial and strategic development roles. 



Mr. Chen serves as an Independent Board Director of New Valence Robotics Corporation, an Independent Board of Managers Member for EconoPure Water Systems, an Independent Board Director of J.P. Nissen Company, and a Senior Advisor for Verit Advisors. He is also a Board Director & Treasurer of the American Welding Society. Philanthropically, Carey serves as a Board Trustee for the Employee Ownership Foundation, AWS Foundation, Cincinnati Incorporated Charitable Foundation, and Hypertherm HOPE Foundation. 



Carey earned his undergraduate degree in applied mathematics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master in business administration at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Carey is happily married and lives with his wife and two sons in Indian Hill, Ohio.
